This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, use hands, communicate, and hear throughout the workday. CNAs may occasionally assist with lifting and transferring residents and may be exposed to blood, bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals, and other healthcare-related materials. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
What you'll do
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, transferring, turning, and positioning
- Obtain and document vital signs, weights, food intake, and fluid intake
- Deliver meals and assist residents with dining needs according to their care plans
- Escort residents to therapy, activities, and other appointments
- Respond to residents and families with respect, compassion, and a positive attitude
- Make regular rounds and ensure residents' needs are being met
- Recognize and promptly report changes in a resident's condition
- Accurately document care and resident information
- Follow all infection prevention, safety, and resident care procedures
- Safely use mechanical lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, gait belts, wheelchairs, shower equipment, and other equipment
- Protect resident privacy and confidential health information
- Help maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident areas
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, dietary staff, activities, and other members of the healthcare team
What we're looking for
- Current CNA certification in accordance with state requirements
- A genuine desire to care for and serve others
- Dependable, responsible, and willing to work as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow facility policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Commitment to completing required training and continuing education
