About this role
Clean floors are not cosmetic in a nursing home — they are a safety issue and one of the first things a family notices when they walk through the door. This role keeps our building looking cared for.
You will work on a set rotation through resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, and common spaces, coordinating with housekeeping and nursing so residents are never disrupted.
What you'll do
- Strip, wax, buff, and burnish hard-surface floors on a rotating schedule
- Shampoo and spot-treat carpeted areas
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment safely
- Follow infection-control and chemical-safety procedures
- Coordinate work around resident routines and activities
- Report maintenance issues discovered during floor care
What we're looking for
- Prior floor care experience preferred; we will train the right person
- Ability to operate buffers, auto-scrubbers, and extractors safely
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Dependability and respect for residents' space and routines
